BMI Calculator
Body Mass Index (BMI) is an approximate measure of body fat based on your height and weight. Typically, as a person’s BMI gets higher, there is an increased risk for diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis and certain cancers.
It is important to remember though that BMI does not accurately measure body fat percentage. For example, athletes have a high muscle-to-fat ratio and may have a high BMI, yet be in excellent health. Excess body fat is the main cause of weight-related diseases. Thus, it is important to talk to your doctor regarding your personal health condition and your BMI results.
To calculate your BMI, enter your height (in feet and inches) and weight (in pounds) and click on your gender. Then click the “Compute BMI” button to get your BMI.
